Pre-order your meat today!
Pre-order and payment of deposit is required on all farm products.
As a small-scale farm, we have limited supply so you will need to reserve your meat in advance. At this time, we sell forest-raised Berkshire Pork, pastured Icelandic Lamb, and grass-fed Lowline Beef. All animals are born and raised here on our 15-acre farm right in Gibsons, BC! Truly local food that is processed on site, so no stressful transport!
Once you reserve your meat, you will get an email confirmation. Prior to the processing date you will receive a custom order form so you can choose your cuts, the size/thickness and amount of meat per package. Once we know your actual hanging weight on processing day, we will send an invoice for final payment. You are charged on hanging weight, that is the carcass without head, hide, feet, offal and organs. Final payment for the amount owing after the deposit is applied is due on processing day. Your custom order will be ready a few weeks after processing as meat needs to hang and rest in a cooler before being custom cut and wrap. All meat orders come frozen, labelled and vacuum sealed. Please make sure you have at least 1 cubic feet of freezer space available for every 35-40 lbs of meat.
Hough Heritage Farm does not offer shipping on food items. All food is picked up from the farm store only. Please arrange a time for pick up in advance. All sales are final. No refunds or exchanges on food items.
Below are the meats available, and the amount of the deposit. All deposits go to the surging cost of feed and hay. You must reserve your meat in advance and quantities are limited to ensure we do not go beyond our farm’s ecological limit.
Thank you for supporting local small-scale farms! We could not exist without you.

Ethically and Regeneratively Raised Meat
We are proud to be preserving rare heritage breed livestock that were left behind when we switched over to industrial agriculture in the 40's. It is important to preserve these heritage breeds for their intelligence, resilience, parenting skills and depth of flavour. The cycle of life and death is very real on a farm and we are honoured to be able to raise heritage breed livestock, without confinement, separating families, unnatural weaning or stressful transport. My animals never see the inside of a transport truck or commercial abattoir. Every animal is processed quickly and humanely on site.
Nose to Tail
When you support local small-scale farms you get to vote for ethical and humane meat production that sequesters carbon, stewards the water cycle, heals soil, supports wildlife and restores the balance needed in our environment. We encourage you to honour the animals by eating nose to tail. Explore different cuts, make some lard, tallow or bone broth. You might be surprised at what delicious and nutritious meals you can create from the bounty that comes from a whole hog or side of beef.
The Reverence and Responsibility of Life
“No matter how delicately you dance on planet earth, we’re all contributing to harm in some way. My allegiance is to the truth. I’m not under the misapprehension that because I only eat fruits and vegetables and grains that it's not contributing in some negative way towards these problems that we all care about and that we are trying to reverse. Having a mature perspective on that is more beneficial than slinging arrows at people. We have to figure out how to unite around our shared principles to do what’s in our best interest for the preservation of the planet.” - Rich Roll in conversation with John and Molly Chester of Apricot Lane Farms.
"No one is excused from the reverence and responsibility of life."
